What is home automation?

Home automation is the intelligent integration of entertainment, lighting, security, climate control and other components in your house to make your life easier.

It allows you to control how you interact with your house, and how it interacts with you.

For example, you could program the system to open the front gate when you arrive home, light the driveway and the hall, turn off the alarm system and adjust the room temperature, all with the touch of a singe button.

Alternatively, you might set a schedule so when the temperature reaches a preset level, the blinds in your rumpus room close automatically to keep the room cool.

How much does home automation cost?

You can create a basic home automation system for as little as a few thousand dollars. Obviously, the bigger the budget the more comprehensive your system can become.

Will all audio-visual components work together?

Unfortunately not all audio-visual components will work together. This is why we recommend consulting a home automation specialist who understands the function and capabilities of the different products available.

A Hidden Technology consultant can advise you as to the most suitable brands and components to meet your specific budget and requirements, and then program the system to function exactly how you want.

The person working in a retail store will not always have the expertise to know how the different components will work (or not work) together. Therefore we strongly recommend you seek advice before purchasing any equipment to avoid spending money on products that will not ultimately meet your requirements.
